If you visit here you will see an ancient mosque located at the beginning of the village. The zamindar’s house including Padmapukur will fall as soon as you cross the road from there. Now an archeological museum has been built around the whole house. Here you will find letters written by the poet himself, letters sent to various meritorious persons including Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar and useful items of the zamindars of that time. Which proves how prosperous they were then. There is a fort temple right in the middle of the house. Durga was worshiped with great pomp every year. Kacharighar is located next to the huge Padmapukur. Rajnarayan Dutt, the father of Michael Madhusudan Dutt, managed the zamindari here. This house was later converted into a library. The library has several books written by the great poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt.
